What is
Joy Prom?

Memphis Joy Prom is a full scale prom for individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up.

Participants get the whole package: including professional prom pictures, limousines rides, jewelry, photo booths and the list goes on. There is no cost to the participants. Their dresses are free and their tuxes are covered.

We are so thankful for our 600 plus volunteers and 7 partner churches/ministries that help us each year.

MJP continues to look for sponsors and volunteers who are willing to love on this community.

Our mission is to provide an evening that values celebrates, and honors the disability community that they might experience the extravagant love of Jesus through the body of Christ.

Luke 14:24 (AMP)

Jesus also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or wealthy neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. But when you give a banquet or a reception, invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind, and you will be blessed because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous (the just, the upright).”

From day one this verse has been our focus point for Memphis Joy Prom and the heart behind why we do what we do. The point of scripture that has specifically stuck out to us is the point made in verse 14, “because they cannot repay you.”
